Each year, Super Lawyers magazine selects outstanding lawyers in more than 70 practice areas based on professional achievement and peer recognition. Harrision, White, Smith & Coggins, P.C. is well represented in the 2014 edition of South Carolina Super Lawyers.

Four attorneys from Harrison, White, Smith & Coggins, P.C. (www.spartanlaw.com), including three of the founding shareholders of the firm, have been named by South Carolina Super Lawyers magazine as four of the top attorneys in South Carolina, the Spartanburg-based law firm announced today. John B. White, Jr., Danny R. Smith, Donald C. Coggins, Jr., and Amanda H. Craven were named to the prestigious list.

White was named in the Criminal Defense, Business Litigation, and Family Law categories; Smith in the Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury Plaintiff: General, and Social Security Disability categories; Coggins in the Personal Injury Plaintiff: General, Employment Litigation: Plaintiff, and Personal Injury Plaintiff: Products categories; and Craven in the Social Security Disability and Workers’ Compensation categories. A listing in Super Lawyers is widely regarded within the legal profession as a signal honor as only five percent of the lawyers in the state are named by Super Lawyers.

John B. White, Jr. offers experience in areas of complex litigation in State and Federal Court, criminal and civil law, business litigation, personal injury law, products liability, domestic relations, and condemnation. White has tried hundreds of cases to juries and received multiple verdicts in excess of $500,000. White serves on the Board of Trustees for Wofford College and The Federal Judicial Center Foundation Board.

Danny R. Smith focuses on the practice areas of Social Security disability, workers’ compensation, and complex personal injury litigation. A charter member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives, previously Smith served on the Board of Governors for the SC Injured Workers Advocates.

Donald C. Coggins, Jr. has an extensive trial practice in civil litigation in State and Federal Courts. Practice areas include personal injury, products liability, employment law, and nursing home negligence. Coggins serves on the South Carolina Commission on Lawyer Conduct by appointment of the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Amanda H. Craven practices in the areas of Social Security disability and workers’ compensation. She is one of the few attorneys in the state who represent claimants with long-term disability/ERISA claims. Craven is a member of the South Carolina Association for Justice and Injured Workers Advocates.
