We Have Not Forgotten.

Fifteen years ago this Sunday our world changed forever. Nineteen militants hijacked four airlines and committed unprecedented acts of terror against the United States. Over 3,000 individuals were killed in New York City and Washington, D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters, bravely there to save the lives of others.

It’s easy to forget because it’s nearly too painful to remember that day, a day that both scarred and unified a nation. But for the mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, and children and grandchildren of the 3,000 people who were killed on September 11th, 2001, I can promise you they continue to remember every minute of every day.

Let us all remember this Sunday, September 11th. If you are in the Upstate, join the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office for a 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony at 6:30 pm in Barnet Park, 248 East St. John Street, Spartanburg.
